The government has a mountain to climb to level up the United Kingdom and so far it seems the Levelling Up White Paper is going to get us to base camp. It is encouraging that the missions of levelling up are now set out and clear commitments have been made to rebalancing public investment across the country and strong local leadership. We look forward to more detail on the proposals as they emerge later today.
