We will be joined by Lucy Powell MP and David Hughes (Chief Executive, Association of Colleges) for a roundtable event to discuss how we can accomplish a fundamental shift in gear for our education system, making lifelong learning its driving principle. How can we design a system that both successfully prepares young people for the world of work and effectively retrains adults displaced by structural economic change? How should such a system be funded and what role should be played by local, regional and national government?
